In order to become fully operational crew, it is necessary for each crew member to achieve the qualifications listed below. These are the requirements for every member of crew before they are allowed to step aboard the rescue boat.

These are the minimum requirements for  all rescue boat crew according to the Maritime and Coastguard Agencies Rescue Boat Code, however, we aim to have a greater understanding of  these subjects and more including aspects of the RYA Safety Boat CERTIFICATE

To this end, the MIRO crew trains every week to hone their skills.


VHF

We require this certificate to allow us to properly and legally use the marine radio equipment fitted to the boat


Powerboat

Powerboat Level 2 as a starting qualification, many of our crew are advanced, intermediate and several are instructors
